About the event
The Blue Book Ball™ is an annual celebration of New Orleans culture, history, and the enduring legacy of the Baby Dolls. Presented by the New Orleans Voodoo Baby Dolls, the Ball brings together artists, cultural bearers, community members, and supporters for an evening rooted in tradition, creativity, and celebration.
Inspired by the historic Blue Books of Storyville, the event honors the women whose lives, artistry, and entrepreneurial spirit helped shape New Orleans history. Through music, performance, storytelling, fashion, art, and community, the Blue Book Ball creates a space where history is not only remembered—it is experienced and carried forward.
The Blue Book Ball also serves as a fundraiser supporting the New Orleans Voodoo Baby Dolls' 501(c)(3) mission, helping fund cultural preservation, educational programming, costumes, community outreach, and performances that keep the Baby Doll tradition alive for future generations.
