About Us

The New Orleans Voodoo Baby Dolls are a cultural preservation collective dedicated to honoring, educating, and sustaining the legacy of the Baby Dolls—one of New Orleans’ most iconic traditions. Rooted in the city’s early 20th-century history, our work uplifts the stories, artistry, and cultural resilience of Black women who helped shape New Orleans’ social aid, pleasure club, and street performance traditions.

Through education, performance, archival projects, and community engagement, we create meaningful opportunities for cultural transmission, historical interpretation, and creative expression

Our Mission

Our mission is to preserve, interpret, and celebrate the cultural legacy of the New Orleans Baby Dolls by centering historical truth, artistic excellence, and community empowerment. We aim to educate the public, support cultural bearers, and create intergenerational pathways for cultural knowledge and creative expression.

We envision a future where the Baby Dolls’ history is widely recognized, accurately documented, and respectfully celebrated—locally and globally.
